Session Details

CAAHEP-accredited Paramedic educational programs measure, evaluate, and improve program outcomes based on critical input from the Program’s Advisory Committee. Representatives on the Advisory Committee provide unique perspectives of the program, students, and graduates and help a program to continually respond to the needs of the local communities of interest. How can a program align with national standards of accreditation and yet still respond to unique local or regional needs? The session will describe the key membership of the Advisory Committee, discuss best practices for structuring and facilitating meetings, clearly reporting the results, and identify requirements for Advisory Committee actions as defined in the CAAHEP Standards. Specific examples will be shared on how to incorporate the new program required minimum competencies into your Advisory Committee meetings with the goal of maintaining a community-responsive and nationally accredited Paramedic educational program that works to help strengthen your resources and outcomes.
