Session Details

It can be tempting for a Paramedic educational program to focus extensively on the didactic and laboratory components and under resource the clinical coordination components of the Program. While students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in the classroom and lab, the clinical rotations, field experience, and capstone field internship provide the opportunity to hone assessment and management techniques, further develop critical thinking abilities, and become a competent patient care provider. This workshop will focus on expectations for the various clinical learning components, establishing expectations, assessing the quality of a clinical education site, evaluation of students and sites, key elements of clinical coordination and supervision, and best practices in the field internship. Guests are encouraged to bring issues they have encountered and addressed and best practices from their own program.
