Dr. Ashish R. Panchal, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Dr. Panchal is passionate about improving patient outcomes in the prehospital setting and has a strong focus on EMS provider wellness and has conducted many studies describing the associated risk with prehospital care provision.
Dr. Panchal is boarded in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services and is the Medical Director for Delaware County EMS and the Delaware County Emergency Communications. At the Ohio State University, he is the Program Director for the ACGME-accredited EMS fellowship. On a national level, Dr. Panchal is the Research and Fellowship Director for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and is part of several expert panels including the National EMS Scope of Practice Model Revision Project and the Evidence-Based Guideline (EBG) Projects for Prehospital Naloxone Administration and Prehospital Pain Management. He also is a member of the American Heart Association Emergency Cardiovascular Care Scientific Subcommittee and is the Chair of the 2020 Adult AHA/ECC Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.
