Deb Cason

Ms. Cason retired from her position as Program Director and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine Education at UT Southwestern Medical Center where she worked for more than 38 years. That position included oversight of initial EMT and Paramedic education programs and paramedic continuing education. Prior to her role in EMS education, she worked in the Emergency Department at Parkland Memorial Hospital where she was Head Nurse. Ms.Cason has chaired the Committee on Accreditation of EMS Professions (CoAEMSP) and currently serves on their Board and as a site visitor. She is past president of the National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE). Ms Cason also served as Chair of National Registry of EMT’s (NREMT) and is now serving on their Executive Committee as Past Chair. She was project director of the 2009 Education Standards and has worked closely with the EMS Education Agenda and its components.
