Dr. H. Jerome Freiberg is the Moores Professor Founder, Principal Investigator and Director for Consistency Management and Cooperative Discipline® (CMCD®) at the University of Houston; American Educational Research Association Fellow; and Editor of Journal of Classroom Interaction.
Dr. Freiberg has a distinguished career as a productive teacher and notable researcher. He is also known for his mentoring skills with graduate students who have gone on to become leaders in the educational community.
As founder of the University of Houston’s Consistency Management and Cooperative Discipline® (CMCD®) program, he has brought over a decade of scientific evidence and testing in schools that show significant improvements in behavior and student achievement. His bi-annual conferences teach innovative research-based, school-tested classroom management strategies to help K-12 students prepare for success, achieve self-discipline, and develop responsibility. Dr. Freiberg was a visiting scholar for Monash University, Australia, was inducted as a Fellow of the American Education Research Association in 2009 for his commitment to research excellence; and is Editor for the Journal of Classroom Interaction, with subscribers in over 40 nations. He has gained international recognition with eight books and over 100 scholarly publications.
Dr. Freiberg was the senior evaluator for the Houston READ Commission 10 Year Evaluation for the City of Houston Mayor’s Office. He was a keynote speaker at the World Congress in Psychotherapie in Vienna, Austria, and has made presentations in Australia, China and England. He is the principal investigator of over $20 million in external funding since 2000.
