Dr. Mayhew is an associate professor and Associate Dean of Waldron College of Health and Human Services at Radford University. Dr. Mayhew has dedicated his entire professional career to higher education with over 30 years experience as both a faculty and administrator. He served for almost 15 years as Chair of the Community Health Sciences Department and Director of the Emergency Services and Fire Science programs.
He is active on the state and national levels with accreditation and regulatory bodies where he currently serves as the President of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and is starting his sixth year on the Board of Directors. He also conducts site visits for CoAEMSP and other CAAHEP professions and has completed the SACSCOC training for institutional effectiveness as a site visitor.
He holds undergraduate degrees in Emergency Health Sciences and Healthcare Administration, a Master of Science in Education, and a Doctorate in Health Sciences. Additionally, he has been a nationally-registered paramedic for over 30 years.
