Richard Ellis is the Program Chair for Paramedic Technology and Division Chair, Health Sciences at Central Georgia Technical College in Macon, Georgia. He holds a Master of Science in Emergency and Disaster Management from Trident University International and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University.
He started in EMS as a volunteer in Maryland while in high school. Richard spent 30 years in the United States Air Force in the Aerospace Medical Service field retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant holding positions in Nursing, Emergency and Ambulance services to include Air Force EMS Program Manager.
He has worked for government, private and volunteer EMS agencies nationwide. Richard currently serves as Education Committee chair for the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. He also provides operational TEMS medical support with the Bibb County Sheriff’s department Special Weapons and Tactics team.\
